A pub has been on this site for over 150 years but ‘The Grouse’ - as it is affectionately called by many who gather here - was built in the early 1960’s.

Just ten minutes walk from Victoria or Hyde Park Corner and just off Grosvenor Place ‘The Grouse’ is in an excellent location in a quiet mews right in the heart of Belgravia.

Fine cask ales, great lunchtime food, a warm atmosphere and excellent service from our friendly staff are waiting for you

‘The Grouse’ offers an attractive lounge bar with cosy alcoves plus an intimate public bar both at ground level.

Above on the first floor is The Saffron Suite which is a superb venue for private occasions with its own bar, seating for approx 50 plus up to 50 more standing and its own kitchen. It also has a Large Screen TV which is Laptop compatible.

Below in the cellar is Dylan’s - An exciting old style, stone floored bar, offering it’s own bar, Piano, Juke Box, Karaoke & Darts. Dylan’s is suitable for up to approx 40 fun loving people. Named Dylan’s because Bob was here in the 80’s!


Let us take this opportunity to introduce ourselves. Kristin & Howard took over at ‘The Grouse & Claret’ at the beginning of January 2005 as tenants (previously this had been a managed house as well as a company training centre). We spent the first eight months trying to improve the look and atmosphere of the premises and we believe that we have had great success in this direction.

Kristin Foord was born in London, but as a child I travelled around the country a lot as my father was constantly moving - no not on the run but his job called for frequent re-locations. Having left school at 16 I worked in hotels around the UK until joining the Playboy Club in Park Lane as a 'bunny girl'. I then moved on to work with various airlines as a flight attendant.

Spent 10 years working for a company in Southampton and Chelsea as the Operations Manager in charge on their Casino sites on cruise and ferry ships worldwide. Decided to continue my education with an ’Open University Degree’. I have enjoyed travelling but the opportunity to be tenant at ’The Grouse & Claret’ allowed me to come home again and I look forward to meeting you here sometime.

Howard Thomas Born in Halifax, Yorkshire / Got Educated / Business Studies Sandwich Course / Worked For Courtaulds / Tootal Group / Coloroll in Export Sales & Marketing / Worked & Lived In Germany - Came Home and Worked For Germany & Myself Producing and Marketing Worldwide Wall Coverings & Furnishing Fabrics / Stopped Doing That and Became the Worst Bar Man This Side of The Thames (and Probably The Other As Well!!)

Kristin and Howard met on a 'cruise' from Hull to Rotterdam. Love at first sight for one of them. . . can you guess which one?
